Deutsche Telekom is seeking a Lead Design Systems to shape a shared design foundation powering Telekom’s products and services. You will drive vision with Design, Engineering and Product leadership and own components and guidelines across teams.

The role requires enterprise-scale experience, strong design leadership and fluency in design tooling. A hybrid setup in Milan/Barcelona provides collaboration across domains with travel opportunities.

Competenze

• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale design systems.
• Strong design leadership with influence without formal authority.
• Excellent interaction, visual and systems design skills.
• Technical fluency with design tokens, front-end frameworks and tooling.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

We are looking for a Lead Design Systems (m/f/d) to join our Design & Customer Experience team and drive the evolution of a shared design foundation that enables quality, consistency and scale across Telekom’s products and services.

What You'll Do

• Define and evolve the vision and strategy for Telekom’s design system together with Design, Engineering and Product leadership.
• Drive design system initiatives across cross-functional teams while providing expert design leadership.
• Own and evolve components, tokens, patterns and guidelines to ensure consistency, quality and accessibility.
• Enable designers, engineers and product teams to adopt, contribute to and continuously improve the design system.
• Balance standardization with flexibility, enabling innovation within shared foundations.
• Champion accessibility and inclusive design as core principles.
• Identify opportunities to improve tooling, governance and workflows while integrating emerging technologies.
• Mentor designers and foster excellence through coaching and knowledge sharing without direct disciplinary responsibility.

Your Skills

• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale design systems.
• Strong design leadership with the ability to influence without formal authority.
• Excellent interaction, visual and systems design skills.
• Technical fluency with design tokens, front-end frameworks and design tooling.
• Deep knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design.
• Strategic thinking aligned with business and product goals.
• Outstanding communication, facilitation and stakeholder management.
• Cross-functional leadership and change management capabilities.

Your Profile

• Degree in Design or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience leading large-scale design systems in complex product organizations.
• Experience influencing multidisciplinary teams across Design, Engineering and Product.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
