Partner with the best

As an Application Engineer at Baker Hughes IET, you will play a crucial role in leading projects and initiatives that have a wide-ranging impact on the company's Center of Excellence (COE) and regional operations. Your responsibilities will involve overseeing major and complex assignments that have long-term business implications. You will also be tasked with managing intricate issues within the realm of application engineering and making significant contributions to the overall business strategy.
As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing solutions for major customers.

  • Supporting leaders in delivering revenue commitments.

  • Assessing economical system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the entire bid process.

  • Leading the preparation, management, and negotiation of technical proposal relevant to Steam Turbines & Expanders including the definition of the budget and accuracy of the proposed solution.

  • Leading the definition of the technical strategy of the project thus influencing customer towards Baker Hughes solutions.

  • Preparing, within the required timeline, the most compelling technical proposal at first submission.

  • Applying product and quality policies, addressing, and mitigating any risks as per Baker Hughes procedures.

  • Leading the technical negotiation, coordinating with supporting functions and attending to meeting/presentation with customer.

  • Handing over the technical contract to execution team in case of award.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Technical degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Have experience in Engineering, Application Engineering, Product management, Customer Service, or equivalent technical role.

  • Have proven experience in Tendering / Commercial department.

  • Be fluent in English (spoken and written).

  • Have a willingness to work on stretched deadlines with flexible time management.

  • Have the right to work in Italy.
