Role Purpose

As an Ansys Lead Application Engineer, you will work with customers in cloud/HPC solutions deployment, becoming a trusted advisor to improve product development. You will lead technical efforts in vertical application deployment, focusing on scalability, robustness, and performance. Your role involves shaping deployment strategies, refining templates, and establishing best practices in containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, ensuring solutions are production-ready and scalable across diverse IT environments. You will also develop end-to-end simulation solutions, expanding application areas and industry knowledge, sharing expertise within teams and with customers to enhance reputation and influence in your field.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities throughout sales opportunities, including discovery, success criteria, presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations, working independently across teams.
• Engage with customers to understand their business initiatives, product development needs, and workflows; analyze how Ansys products can meet and exceed their goals; communicate value propositions to senior management.
• Guide project teams in developing differentiated, reusable simulation solutions using Ansys platforms, deploying solutions within customer workflows.
• Deliver professional services and consulting to customers.
• Design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, high-performance deployment architectures using Kubernetes and containers, including performance testing and bottleneck resolution.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and strategic planning, aligning deployment frameworks with emerging trends in cloud, DevOps, and automation.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. Required experience: BS+8, MS+6, PhD+3 years. Proven use of Ansys or similar CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software. Strong understanding of engineering practices, product development, and deployment within customer workflows. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple complex projects. Experience leading application deployments in production, expertise in Kubernetes, DevOps pipelines, infrastructure as code, performance testing, cloud platforms, and automation scripting (Python). Ability to travel domestically up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional experience of 4 years in customer-facing application engineering or consulting, interacting with senior management, with ability to travel up to 50%. Knowledge of programming languages such as C# (.NET), JavaScript, HTML, and agile project management.
