Role Purpose

As an Ansys Lead Application Engineer, you will work with customers in cloud/HPC vertical solutions deployment, becoming a credible advisor for product development improvements. You will lead technical efforts in vertical application deployment, focusing on scalability, robustness, and performance. Your role involves shaping the success of deploying our technology in real-world environments, guiding team members, and ensuring solutions are production-ready and scalable across diverse IT environments. You will develop end-to-end simulation solutions, expand application areas, and share your expertise within teams and with customers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership: Lead planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities throughout sales opportunities, including discovery, success criteria negotiation, presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations. Work independently across teams.
2. Customer Interaction: Understand customer initiatives, product needs, and workflows; analyze how Ansys products can meet goals; communicate value to senior management.
3. Solution Development: Lead project teams to develop and deploy differentiated simulation solutions using Ansys platform.
4. Professional Services: Lead delivery of consulting services.
5. Deployment Architecture: Design and optimize scalable, secure deployment architectures using Kubernetes and container technologies, including performance testing and bottleneck resolution.
6. Strategic Contribution: Contribute to architecture decisions and strategic planning, aligning with trends in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and automation.

Minimum Education / Certification & Experience

BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum experience: BS+8, MS+6, PhD+3. Proven experience in deploying engineering software solutions, with strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with Kubernetes, DevOps tools, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Python automation, and large-scale deployment performance tuning. Ability to travel up to 25% domestically.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Additional experience: BS+12, MS+10, PhD+7. Customer-facing roles, interaction with senior management, understanding of programming languages like C# and Javascript, agile project management knowledge, and ability to travel up to 50% domestically.
