Capco is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to join Capco AI Lab and design production-grade AI solutions for clients. This senior, hands-on role requires deep expertise in Generative and Agentic AI, guiding engineers while continuing to write production code.

You will work on LLM orchestration, AI agents, RAG, tool calls, and observability, translating business needs into robust architectures and advising on platforms.

Competenze

• 8+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering or similar roles.
• Strong hands-on software engineering skills with Python or similar language.
• Experience designing and developing LLM and Agentic AI applications, including AI agents, LLM orchestration and tool/function calling.
• Strong understanding of RAG architectures and vector-based search.
• Experience with agentic frameworks and integration approaches such as LangChain, LangGraph, MCP or comparable technologies.
• Understanding how to test and evaluate non-deterministic AI systems, including LLM/agent evaluation, monitoring and observability.
• Strong software architecture and engineering fundamentals, including APIs, distributed systems, integration patterns and production reliability.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and cloud-native engineering practices.
• Experience with DevOps, containers, CI/CD; Infrastructure as Code and observability valued.
• Experience providing technical leadership through architecture/design reviews, code reviews and mentoring.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional English proficiency.
• Experience with multi-agent architectures, advanced RAG, AI evaluation frameworks or LLMOps.
• Experience with NLP and production applications based on LLMs.
• Experience taking AI prototypes through to secure, scalable production-grade apps.
• Experience with AI governance/risk frameworks (EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF).
• Experience in Financial Services or Energy.
• Consulting/client-facing delivery experience.
• Open-source contributions/publications/speaking.

Mansioni

• Design and own end-to-end architecture of Generative and Agentic AI solutions, including orchestration, AI agents, tool calling, RAG, memory/state management.
• Remain hands-on with software development, building complex components and taking prototypes to production-grade solutions.
• Define engineering standards and best practices for AI applications including reference architectures, testing and evaluation strategies, guardrails, observability and CI/CD.
• Design scalable, secure, and reliable AI systems considering performance, latency, cost, monitoring and production requirements.
• Evaluate and select LLMs, frameworks, platforms and tools based on tech and business needs.
• Lead technical design and code reviews, mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.
• Communicate with clients and senior stakeholders to translate requirements into architectures and trade-offs.
• Contribute to technical docs and thought leadership on Generative and Agentic AI.
