We are looking for a

  • to drive and support the Large Project Office operation.

The LPO T&P controller manager will provide guidance and leadership to Tender & Project Controllers allocated to LPO and will ensure commercial awareness and proper involvement in tendering phase, validating contractual setup, T&Cs, tax impacts, and FCM.

He will be a member of the HBU Europe Controlling & Risk Management organization.

The location of the role is flexible, ideally colocated with major HE locations in Europe.

  • How you'll make an impact
  • Act as a Business Partner to the Large Project Office manager
  • Participate or provide input to negotiations on contractual terms and conditions (clients, consortia, subcontractors, suppliers)
  • Ensure timely and experienced resources are allocated to large projects
  • Support and improve the predictability and operational performance of the HBU, monitoring progress, providing analysis and support to HBU Controlling
  • Identify tender pipeline of LPO and interact with capture team lead to drive strategy and challenge where needed
  • Interact with other departments preparing a LPO tender such as SCM & Planning to secure BtB agreements
  • Identify large project opportunities/risks and ensure timely mitigation actions
  • Drive and ensure timely preparation of large project reviews, proper revenue and cash planning, and root cause analysis on deviations
  • Identify best practices and lessons learned for implementation
  • Drive processes, standardization, and a common way of working: S4H to be the basis for financial relevant data
  • Propose and implement digital initiatives for increased efficiency and quality
  • Mentor the team in proper usage of processes and tools
  • Support HBU Controlling resources planning with CWFP for LPO projects
  • Your background
  • Operational expertise in risk management principles and their application in complex circumstances
  • Knowledge of company regulatory environment, governance, and accountability, with examples of managing risks in complex scenarios involving multiple BUs and strategic customers
  • Expertise in company tools and guiding the Tendering & Project Controlling team in their usage
  • Deep knowledge of BU/HBU & project execution processes, guidelines, and tools: S4H, P6, Promis, Tendering tools, FARM
  • Capability to identify significant risks and evaluate/assess response plans to prevent margin erosion or improve margins
  • Understanding of key milestones for effective planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control activities, with ability to suggest improvements
  • Understanding of full cost model structure and key items to maintain or improve margins and cash flow, with capacity to propose improvements
  • Ability to understand legal and contractual requirements and seek legal support when needed
