Job Title: Land Experience Buyer

Are you a seasoned seeker of extraordinary travel experiences, fueled by a passion for exploration? Do you possess a talent for sourcing captivating land tours and experiences, coupled with adept stakeholder management and negotiation skills?

Within our Procurement & Supply Chain department, we are seeking an experienced buyer of land experiences and tours. You will play a significant role in shaping our company's success by collaborating closely with operations and product teams. Your responsibilities will include maintaining existing contracts while leading the development of innovative routes aligned with Costa's distinctive positioning and business objectives.

How you'll live your ambition:

As a Land Experience Buyer based in our Genoa offices, you'll lead the sourcing of shore excursions, ground services, and Meet & Greet services to fulfill the needs of Costa and Carnival Corporation. Your expertise in business matters and contract management will be crucial for analyzing and evaluating suppliers, identifying value opportunities, and promoting innovative purchasing methodologies. Collaborating with colleagues from Guest Experience and Onboard Sales Operations, you'll contribute to enhancing quality and reshaping the landscape of the cruise industry.

  • Identify local operators offering the best balance of cost-effectiveness and quality standards through regular competitive bidding processes.
  • Manage contract renewals and extensions for designated destinations, leveraging your analytical skills to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Drive cost optimization through shrewd negotiation tactics, securing the best terms while upholding our standards of quality and service.
  • Develop dynamic partnerships with local operators, enhancing operational efficiency and guest experiences.

Get things right

  • Ensure the accuracy and currency of the Shoreside Services database (TOG_Argo) by meticulously updating all contract details and associated costs.
  • Evaluate supplier markets regularly, seek alternative supply channels, uncover value propositions, and implement cutting-edge purchasing strategies and systems.

What makes you unique:

  • At least 4/5 years of experience in leisure and tourism sectors (tour operator, travel agency, hospitality fields are a plus).
  • A data-driven decision-making approach, supported by academic backgrounds in Economics, Engineering Management, Mathematics/Statistics, or related fields.
  • Highly skilled in MS Excel and fluent in English.
  • A positive attitude toward continuous improvement, fostering team and stakeholder relationships through collaboration.
  • Strong focus on product quality and efficiency, with excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical information effectively.
