Part-time -
Every Weekend - Day shift
Brief Overview
Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.
Responsibilities
- Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
- Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting, and phlebotomy.
- Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Follow departmental documentation for specific duties and responsibilities.
- Abides by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI), with annual training and policies in place.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
- Formal training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program
Work Experience
- Less than 1 year entry-level experience; step increase upon successful completion of competencies after a minimum of 6 months training (Required)

- Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.
- Responsible for self-development.
- Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies.
- Displays initiative in performing duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
- Competent in venipuncture for all ages.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) upon hire.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, crawling.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs frequently.
