Job Summary

The owners of the job use their understanding of science and engineering and their technical leadership abilities to participate in laboratory methodologies in a broad analytical area e.g. polymer, paper, surface. The owners of the job are engineers who regularly perform analyses and use analytical equipment. The owner of the job performs tasks of medium complexity and coordination, receiving moderate levels of guidance and direction. The owners have a certain expertise but are still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

We have a test catalogue of over 200 methods and a wide range of different types of packaging material, that ensures that this role can offer opportunity to grow. The first year(s) will be dedicated to standard tests, but there is also great opportunity to later work with improvement of test methods and to develop new test methods. The location is Modena, Italy.

What you will do

• Regularly performs analyses, uses analytical equipment and interprets test results.
• Prepare and analyze small specimens of packaging materials by using lab equipment and collect data in laboratory reports.
• Responsible for proper documentation of test methods and results.
• Keeps updated on current development within the area of analysis.
• Communicates with internal and external stakeholders about orders and test results.
• Participates in, and leads minor, development and improvement of laboratory capabilities.
• Gives recommendations to proper analysis within the analytical area.
• Participates in ensuring the validity, reliability and robustness of laboratory capabilities.
• Responsible for selecting the appropriate analytical approach, e.g. sample size, method, preparation.
• Participates in knowledge sharing and methodology training of laboratory colleagues.

We believe you have

• More than 2 years’ experience in working as a Laboratory Engineer.
• Completed university Master's degree is preferred.
• It is very important to be thorough and accurate. It is also important to communicate well with your colleagues as well as with the people and project requesting analysis. To have a humble, service-minded and flexible attitude.
• Advanced English language skills both written and verbal are preferred.
