Role Overview

1. Solvay is increasing its resources dedicated to the emerging hydrogen sector, including efforts in the development of ionomers (polymers with ionic properties) for H2 production (electrolysis), H2 conversion (fuel cells), and energy storage (flow batteries).
2. We are seeking a capable technician with experience in electrochemical devices with the following responsibilities:
3. Support ionomer formulation and coating development activities for cast and impregnated membranes.
4. Support ink formulation and coating development activities for electrodes preparation.
5. Execute electrochemical testing on fuel cells, water electrolysis, and flow batteries according to the defined procedures.
6. Support the definition of new testing protocols, including performance and durability, for membrane and electrode in fuel cells, water electrolysis, and flow batteries.
7. Collect and report data results in dedicated files and databases.
8. Support failure analysis and post-mortem evaluation of membranes and electrodes to exchange and develop best practices and bring the best in class solutions to customers.
