Key Account Manager Refining & Petrochemical

Location: North-west, Italy

Solenis has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated, and professional Key Account Manager to join our dynamic team in Italy.

The focus of this role is to identify and maximize our business development and sales opportunities as well as maintaining and developing existing customer accounts.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Drive and grow sales and services in North-west Italy and support the heavy industries European market.
  2. Share Solenis product and market knowledge, ensuring superior value delivery to the customer.
  3. Collaborate locally and with the broader business to develop sustainable networks.
  4. Report on prospecting activities, sales opportunities, and competitor activity.
  5. Contribute to the overall performance of the region and broader business goals.
  6. Analyze decision-making processes within key customer organizations and initiate contact at various levels.
  7. Build strong contacts at senior management levels of key accounts.
  8. Lead and partner with customers for business strategy implementation and plan execution, conducting regular business reviews.
  9. Conduct high-level negotiations to secure new and repeat business.
  10. Build long-term internal and external customer relationships.
  11. Collaborate with local partners, expanding the commercial pipeline, especially in Refinery & Petrochemical sectors.
  12. Act as an advocate for all aspects of safe practice, ensuring safety of self and others.
  13. Manage all sales activities, including account correspondence, contracts, orders, new business implementation, troubleshooting, and follow-ups.
  14. Facilitate regular meetings with customers to discuss service, plans, and proposals.
  15. Travel more than 50% of working time.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in chemical engineering or similar, or equivalent industry experience, primarily in Chemistry and/or Environment industries.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the chemical treatment industry.
  3. Extensive knowledge of chemical treatments in Refinery & Petrochemical sectors.
  4. Excellent verbal and written skills in Italian and English.
  5. Self-motivated with a strong drive for results.
  6. This is a field-based role.
  7. Customer-focused with professional and confident communication skills.
  8. Ability to deliver against strategic KPIs and operational excellence.
