Job description

Barilla is seeking a Key Account Manager to join the Italy Customer Management team.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving assigned category targets in volume, turnover, and profitability. They will develop category strategies and budgets in alignment with Barilla and will negotiate and agree on category plans with customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the achievement of customer budgets in terms of volume and net sales.
  • Ensure profitability (customer margin) by working on all P&L lines and managing resources such as TPR / OTF.
  • Contribute to meeting market share targets at customer and country levels.
  • Manage promotional planning, negotiate with customers, and ensure effective promotional activities.
  • Drive value through timely listing and market introduction of innovations.
  • Support in-store execution, including assortment, promotional activities, and events, working closely with the sales team.
  • Define and agree on category plans with customers, including multi-year strategies, based on data analysis.
  • Promote shopper projects like category management, space allocation, retail media, and e-commerce.
  • Identify opportunities and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing yearly agreements and meetings with customers.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified with over 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Trade Marketing within FMCG; marketing experience is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence others and work with high energy and motivation.
  • Autonomous planning and prioritization skills.
  • Project management skills with a focus on excellence.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strategic thinking.
  • Passion for market trends and evolution.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.
  • Additional Information

  • The Key Account Manager reports to the Customer Team Director.
  • Location : Parma, with hybrid working arrangements.
  • Type of contract : Full-time, permanent, starting July 2025.
