Junior Systems Engineer - Bologna-Napoli

We need you for these activities:

NIER Ingegneria is expanding its Systems Engineering department and is seeking a junior Systems Engineer to join the technical team working within the railway industry.

Place of work:

• Initial period (6-12 months): Bologna.

Definitive location to be specified during the interview process, with options including Bologna, Napoli, and Milano.

Main responsibilities:

• Performing technical activities related to the development of railway and metro equipment and systems, such as:
• Requirement management and verification;
• Standards and norms compliance verification;
• Functional safety analysis;
• Reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis.

You are perfect for us if you have:

• A Master’s Degree in engineering (preferably Electronic, Electric, Nuclear, Mechanical, Aerospace, Biomedical).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Fluent Italian (spoken and written).
• Good knowledge of English (spoken and written, at least level B1).
• Problem-solving skills, goal orientation, flexibility, strong motivation, and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to travel nationally.

If you also possess these qualities, we appreciate it:

• Knowledge of railway regulatory frameworks, signalling principles, and system architectures (e.g., ERTMS).
• Knowledge of international standards for functional safety (e.g., IEC61508, EN50126, EN50129, IEC 61226, IEC 61513, ISO26262, IEC61511, IEC62061).
• Familiarity with European Directives (e.g., Machinery, Electromagnetic Compatibility).
• Experience with requirement management and verification tools (e.g., DOORS, POLARION).
• Programming skills in DOORS Extension Language (DXL).
• Knowledge of RAMS engineering methods (e.g., FMEA/FMECA, RBD, FTA) and related software tools (e.g., FaultTree+, ALD-RAM Commander, Reliasoft-Blocksim).
• Willingness to travel internationally.
