Job summary

AIG in Italy is seeking a Junior Property Underwriter to join our team in Lombardy. You will underwrite new and renewal Property business, assess risk with brokers and subject matter experts, and generate value through proactive underwriting and broker relationship management.

You will also contribute to monthly management information and expand broker networks by attending events, all while working primarily in the office as part of a collaborative culture at AIG.

Qualifications

• Some underwriting experience is preferred; however, you are welcome to apply if you have other professional experience.
• The ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Customer and Sales orientated behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business to drive profitable growth in Property.
• Assess risk by reviewing claims history and company information after broker contact.
• Maintain broker relationships with a timely, proactive underwriting approach.
• Grow business by expanding broker network and attending broker events.
• Provide monthly management information: submissions, bind rate, average premium, total premium.
