Competenze

NI Optical Service Practice, part of the Network infrastructure – Global Customer Engineering organization, provides expert customer support for optical networks, covering design, integration, transformation, and migration. The team drives digital transformation through solutions like Digital Twin, process automation, and advanced reporting.

This role focuses on planning, designing, deploying, and optimizing optical networks to generate revenue and enhance customer satisfaction. It also involves defining delivery models, managing resources across teams, and packaging service solutions to ensure efficient execution within the engineering community.

As optics junior automation expert you’ll cover a critical role within NI Optical services, aimed at defining, developing and expanding usage of automation within optical professional services engineering community. The role will be responsible for defining and developing solutions for automation that align with our strategic objectives, enhancing our offerings and market creation in the automation space. We ask for the the ability and willingness to travel as per project requirements.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

You will :

• Develop, integrate and validate new solutions to automate operational aspects in managing an optical network
• Contribute to introduce AI within automation solutions to increase efficiency in service delivery
• Participate to the definition, development and execution of complex network transformation activities
• In collaboration with system integration lead help to define design requirements and translate them into stories (agile methodology)
• Prepare solution validation strategy and test list
• Execute internal system integration tests

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT
• English written and spoken is a MUST
• Optical network knowledge (preferably on Nokia)
• Wavelenght Division Multiplexing (WDM) and domain controller’s operational knowledge
• linux and shell scripting knowledge
• Team player / Innovative / problem solver / Self-motivated / target oriented

Nice to have :

• Good understanding of Ansible automation platforms
• Level knowledge of Software platforms including virtualization / (e.g. vmware, dockers…) and operating systems Linux, UNIX and WINDOWS.
• docker / Kubernetes, UI development and Robot framework / selenium, Java development language skills
• Scrum methodology and Know-how on Agile methodology
• Know-how on (YANG) data modeling language in the context of Openconfig
• Know-how on Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF)
• Experienced in (optical) network management and / or network element validation in customer premises
• Network security know how (e.g. vulnerability scanning tools, cybersecurity concepts…)
