Mermec is seeking a Junior Hardware Engineer in Padua, Veneto, Italy, to oversee complete hardware design of digital and analog boards—from requirements to mass production.

Responsibilities include specifications, schematic capture, layout, testing, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams. Prototyping, design verification, and occasional travel are expected; English proficiency is required.

Competenze

• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Design electronics schematics and PCB layout.
• Experience with PCB design tools (Altium preferred).
• Experience with laboratory instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope).
• Nice to have DFx for manufacturing and testability.
• Nice to have EMC design knowledge.
• Nice to have HDL (VHDL/Verilog).
• Nice to have FPGA toolchains (ISE, Vivado, Quartus).
• Nice to have C/C++ for embedded systems.

Mansioni

• Define hardware specifications for electronic boards.
• Design and simulate schematics, select components.
• Develop test hardware and procedures to validate hardware.
• Maintain and debug existing projects.
• Manage component libraries.
• Interface with internal customers on hardware issues.
• Develop VHDL for FPGA and C/C++ for SoC/microprocessor Software.
• Document design specs and implementation details.
• Collaborate with optical, hardware, firmware and software engineers.
• Interact with EMS during prototyping and production.
