Zirak is seeking a Junior Embedded Software Engineer in Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy to contribute to in-vehicle connectivity solutions. You will work on embedded modules like TCU and infotainment, implementing CAN/LIN/Ethernet/Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi/cellular protocols and OTA updates.

You will collaborate with hardware, cybersecurity and cloud teams while following ASPICE, ISO 26262 and AUTOSAR standards. This entry‑level role emphasizes growth in automotive software development.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 1–2 years of embedded software development experience, preferably in automotive.
• Strong C and C++ programming skills.
• Experience with Python scripting.
• Knowledge of embedded development, integration, testing and debugging.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Familiarity with JIRA and project management.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering teams.

For a new automotive connectivity project, we are looking for a Junior Embedded Software Engineer to support the development and integration of connected-vehicle solutions, contributing to features such as OTA updates, telematics, V2X and infotainment systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software components for in-vehicle connectivity modules, including TCU and infotainment systems.
• Implement, integrate and test automotive and wireless communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular technologies.
• Support the development of connected-vehicle functionalities such as OTA updates, telematics and V2X communication.
• Contribute to software integration, debugging, testing and issue resolution on embedded automotive platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional hardware, systems engineering, cybersecurity and cloud teams.
• Follow automotive software development processes and standards, including ASPICE, ISO 26262 and AUTOSAR.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• One to two years of professional experience in embedded software development, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Good programming skills in C and C++.
• Experience with scripting languages, particularly Python.
• Knowledge of embedded software development, integration, testing and debugging practices.
• Experience with version-control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience with issue-tracking and project-management tools, such as JIRA.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Embedded Linux or QNX.
• Exposure to automotive telematics, V2X communication or OTA update systems.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols, including CAN, LIN and UDS.
• Experience with automotive network analysis and testing tools, such as Vector CANoe or CANalyzer.
• Knowledge of wireless communication technologies, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE/5G.
• Understanding of AUTOSAR concepts and automotive software architectures.
• Basic knowledge of automotive functional safety and development processes, including ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
• Awareness of cybersecurity principles in the automotive domain.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure and with vehicle data pipelines.
• Knowledge of the Italian language.
