STMicroelectronics is seeking a GaN technology professional in Italy to join our team and drive the design, testing and qualification of next‑generation GaN devices. You will work across Marketing, Engineering, Applications and Quality to ensure top performance and reliability.

The role involves simulations, characterization, datasheet development and collaboration with external partners to advance state‑of‑the‑art GaN products and meet market needs.

Qualifications

• Master degree in physics, engineering, materials science, chemistry or similar.
• Extensive knowledge of Excel and the Office suite.
• Proficient business English.
• Knowledge of Device Physics.
• Experience with device characterization at bench.

Responsabilités

• Design reliable, robust GaN products and select suitable architectures and topologies based on market needs, from feasibility to production.
• Perform Spice and 3D simulations to verify electrical performance and support modeling.
• Support technology platform qualification and ensure SOP compliance.
• Assist in characterization and failure analysis of GaN devices.
• Define parameter specs, compile datasheets and validate measurements for GaN devices.
• Define FOMs for GaN technology from characterization activities.
• Monitor reverse analysis of competitor devices to maintain ST GaN performance edge.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Applications and Quality teams across functions.
• Support project execution through communication, coordination and problem-solving.
• Build collaborations with external partners, academia and vendors.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices across internal and external networks.

YOUR ROLE

You take part in creating the best new hire experience in the project to completely renew our talent acquisition and onboarding process. You also help us with finding the best vendors for recruitment, and managing the a to z collaboration with them.

• Design reliable, robust power GaN products, choosing the most suitable system architectures, technologies and circuital topologies on the basis of market requirements and finalize these designs from the feasibility study to qualification and production.
• Perform Spice and R3D simulations to verify electrical performances and support physical modeling activities
• Support technology platform qualification and ensure compliance with internal SOPs
• To support the characterization and failure analysis of the designed GaN products.
• Support for parameter definitions, datasheet compilation and measurement validation for GaN product devices.
• Definition of FOMs of GaN technology based on characterization activities.
• Follow the reverse analysis of competitor devices to guarantee the state-of-the-art performance of ST GaN products.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across multiple functions (Marketing, Engineering, Application, Quality)
• Support project execution through strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving
• Build effective collaborations with external partners, including academia and vendors
• Contribute to the exchange of technical knowledge and best practices across internal and external networks

• Master degree in physics, engineers, material science, chemistry or similar

The expected salary range for this position is €38,000 – €45,000 gross annual salary (RAL).

In accordance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and applicable Italian legislation, this compensation range has been determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including job responsibilities, required skills, relevant experience, qualifications, and market benchmarks.
