Your opportunity

As our new Junior Account Executive, you will be part of Mollie’s Sales team in Milan. We are looking to add skilled sales professionals with an entrepreneurial mindset who are eager to make a difference, data-driven, and willing to get hands dirty. The role focuses on medium and large web shops with complex needs, requiring C-level engagement and in-depth sales conversations.

You will have full ownership of the sales cycle—from prospecting, engaging, nurturing leads, understanding their pain points, to creating compelling proposals tailored to their business needs. Your goal is to expand our customer base in the medium and large segment and turn new customers into strong Mollie ambassadors.

What you'll be doing
  1. You will outbound to prospective merchants in Italy via email sequences, cold calls, and in-person events.
  2. Follow-up with inbound marketing and partnership leads using our sales tools.
  3. Own a deal pipeline of new prospects and manage them from first contact to becoming live customers.
  4. Coordinate onboarding and integration of new customers with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful go-live and handover to Customer Success.
  5. Work with onboarding and risk teams early in the sales process to speed up conversion and manage risk.
  6. Leverage Mollie’s value proposition to meet merchants face-to-face and be creative in your sales approach.
What you'll bring
  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills in Italian, with comfort in English.
  2. 1-3 years of experience in full cycle sales, particularly in an account executive role.
  3. A hunter mentality with outbound sales experience.
  4. Confidence discussing technical solutions.
  5. Organized, structured, analytical, and target-focused.
  6. Strong networking skills and enjoyment of face-to-face interactions.
  7. Impact-driven and entrepreneurial spirit.
  8. Strong relationship-building, transparency, honesty, and a consultative sales approach.
  9. Experience in payments, fintech, or SaaS is a plus.
  10. Knowledge of e-commerce platforms like Prestashop, Magento, and Shopify is a plus.
