We are currently seeking a highly motivated start-up engineer to join our team on the new fully integrated Silicon Carbide (SiC) campus in Catania, Sicily. As a start-up engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the start-up and the hand-over of all facility installations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and monitor start-up and commissioning phases from start to finish of microelectronics industrial installations, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards providing technical and procedural guidelines.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define key milestones, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation and risk management strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and address any issues or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct in-depth problem analysis to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions that prevent reoccurrences, as well as ensuring the transmission of knowledge to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Establish clear targets and metrics, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to assess organizational performance and ensure progress towards goals.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are managed effectively.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Update on a daily basis the reporting templates for management.
  • Use existing follow-up tools or implement new tools to ensure the tracking of advancement.
  • Manage installation start-up, commissioning, implementation of FMCS - automation - (& SCADA), verify availability of documentation to ensure hand-over of installation to local team.
  • Conduct risk assessments, with associated mitigation proposals for reporting to ST management.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement, in prevision of future start-ups.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in engineering (with technical background at least one of the following disciplines : mechanical, electrical, industrial, gas chemical, water treatment).
  • Open for junior engineer.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management tools (including task automatization on office for example) and engineering software (3D visualization, reading industrial designs, P&IDs…).
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
