Responsibilities
  • Prepare all food items as directed, maintaining sanitation and efficiency.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
  • Restock items as needed during shifts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the station, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Properly use and maintain all station equipment.
  • Assist in kitchen cleaning, sanitation, and organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Manager.
  • Prepare various food items including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold foods.
  • Store and date all prepared food correctly.
  • Use food prep tools following manufacturer instructions.
  • Follow closing protocols for the kitchen.
Estimated Monthly Budget
  • Projected monthly income: $2,240 (Hourly wage: $14)
  • Housing and transportation costs: $900 (with employer-provided housing options for $700)
  • Meals provided during working hours
J1 Visa Program

This traineeship is part of a J1 visa program aimed at young professionals and recent graduates to enhance their careers, gain work experience, and engage in cultural exchange.

The total cost for the J1 visa process and application is $1,870, including a $1,450 payment upon visa approval (which covers $650 for mandatory health insurance).

Disclaimer: The first month of housing must be paid in advance by the candidate. Airfare costs are not covered and will vary based on departure city.

Candidate Requirements

To qualify for a J1 Visa, you must:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old.

  • Speak English; Spanish is a plus.
