An established industry player is seeking an Italy Electromagnetics Engineer to join its dynamic team in Genova/Milano. This role involves the development, support, and execution of electromagnetic compatibility tests, ensuring compliance with military and civil standards. You will engage with multidisciplinary teams to analyze requirements and prepare comprehensive test plans. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic/TLC Engineering and have a solid understanding of electromagnetism and electronics. RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Electromagnetics Engineer to join its office in Genova/Milano within the Space & Defence Division.

Mission

  1. Development, Support and Execution of electromagnetic compatibility tests in accordance with civil (IEC, EN), military (MIL-STD-461 and 464), and aeronautical (DO-160) standards;
  2. Development of Electromagnetic Simulation;
  3. Analysis of EMC/E3 requirements;
  4. Analysis and preparation (in accordance with applicable civil and/or military standards) test plans, test procedures, and test reports with impact analysis in terms of design and installation;
  5. Analysis of electrical/electronic diagrams;
  6. Development and application of EMC countermeasures (bonding, grounding, cable routing, cable segregation, shielding, etc.) on complex systems such as ships, airplanes, helicopters, automotive, etc. (not necessarily all);
  7. Monitoring and execution of EMC qualification tests and/or measurements in Italy and abroad;
  8. Interaction with other disciplines such as safety, system engineering, and various design areas.

Key Accountabilities

  • Degree in electronic or telecommunications engineering;
  • Good knowledge of electromagnetism (antennas, guided propagation, etc.), electronics (radio frequency and microwave), and electrical engineering;
  • Knowledge of E3 issues at both the apparatus and platform level (aircraft, ship) and of the applicable standards MIL-STD-464C, MIL-STD-461G, RTCA/DO-160G, ED-107A, SAE ARP5415, and civil regulations EMC IEC/EN/CEI;
  • Knowledge of main electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST, FEKO, and post-processing tools like Matlab;
  • Proficiency in using measurement and test systems for electromagnetic compatibility (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, antennas, current probes, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, etc.);
  • Experience or involvement in national/international programs related to electromagnetic compatibility across sectors like ships, aircraft, helicopters, automotive, etc. (not necessarily all).

Other Requirements

  • Problem-solving attitude;
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams on complex projects with a high degree of autonomy;
  • Negotiation skills with colleagues and clients;
  • Good command of both written and spoken English.
