AIG’s underwriting team in Italy seeks a D&O Manager to lead underwriters, drive profitability, and implement strategic initiatives across Financial Lines and related areas.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliant, efficient underwriting and grow key client relationships. This role emphasizes office-based collaboration and professional development within a global insurer.

Responsibilities

• Manage underwriters directly, monitoring progress on goals and objectives.
• Achieve production goals including profitability. Manage monthly production process.
• Drive facility and program new business opportunities.
• Track monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics (GPW, NPW, rate, new business, lost business, submissions).
• Ensure FL underwriting strategy provided by PCM is implemented for Italy.
• Develop Financial Lines MLC Underwriting strategy to grow a profitable portfolio that meets customer demand.
• Ensure underwriters act within agreed decision making standards and authority.
• Maintain a referral process for accounts.
• Maintain a pipeline of products and monitor insurance law changes.
• Implement regional and global products in a timely manner.
• Ensure timely reporting of estimate performance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and risk management responsibilities.
• Retain talent by mentoring underwriters and guiding career development.
• Develop a clear sales and marketing plan for growth lines.
• Review underwriting processes for operational efficiency.
• Build relationships with key brokers.
• Implement and grow alternative sources of business.
• Ensure Underwriting Excellence is used (Raters, Peer Reviews, AQI).
