WellD Italia is seeking a Backend Developer to join its dev team on a mission-critical project for a global FMCG leader. You will contribute to enterprise-scale software solutions, shaping digital tools that deliver real-world value.

This hybrid role is based in Italy, with 3–4 days/week at Alba client site and Milan base, travel and accommodation costs covered by the company. The ideal candidate has strong Java backend experience, knowledge of DevOps and frontend integration, and fluency in

About The Role

WellD Italia is looking for a Backend developer to join its dev team. In this role, you will work on a mission-critical project for a global leader in the FMCG industry headquartered in Alba. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the client’s international success and the quality of software solutions used at an enterprise scale. You will have the opportunity to actively shape how these digital tools deliver real-world value, ensuring excellence in a high-stakes, prestigious environment.

Where we are

While our home base is in Milan’s Isola/Garibaldi district, this is a hybrid position that currently involves working from the client’s Alba headquarters 3 to 4 days a week. On-site requirements may scale back over time depending on project needs. Please note that train and accommodation costs will be covered by the company.

What Tech We Use

Our tech stack features Java on the backend and Angular on the frontend, leveraging Git, GitLab, and Docker. For this specific role, we are looking for someone with a strong command of Java and the JVM ecosystem. Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and frontend development (Angular) is a strong plus.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Developing scalable backend solutions using Java and ensuring their seamless integration with frontend technologies.
• Implementing and managing DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment using Docker.
• Participating in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and knowledge sharing activities to maintain high software quality standards.
• Sharing your expertise through our Tech Blog and community events.

What We’re Looking For

• Solid understanding of the Java ecosystem and experience in backend development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Angular or similar frameworks.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Continuous desire to learn and improve in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
