What you will do

The Firmware Lead Engineer will:

  • Mentor and manage a team of embedded firmware engineers focused on IoT connected devices.
  • Foster a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define firmware architecture and drive technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability across devices.

What you need to succeed
Must have
  • Solid experience in coding in C language, both bare-metal and RTOS environments.
  • Experience with software development using real-time OS (knowledge of freeRTOS is essential).
  • Expertise in software architecture definition and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols (TLS, SSL, PKI with X509 Certificates, device hardware security).
  • Understanding of security best practices in embedded systems (e.g., secure boot, encryption, authentication).
  • Experience with IoT wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, XBee, BLE, LoRa, Cellular.
  • Experience with Over-The-Air programming processes.
  • Proficiency in communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, HTTPS) and cloud IoT platforms (AWS experience is mandatory).
  • Experience coding in high-level languages (C#, Python) for developing testing tools for embedded devices.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

Education: Electronic Engineering / Informatica

Professional Experience: Over 10 years in R&D electronic development SW embedded & IoT; over 2 years in team leadership.

Languages: Italian & English (proficient)
