Job summary

Pirelli & C. S.p.A. is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering graduate to join the R&D function in the Tread Engineering team at the headquarter.

You will collaborate with tutors to develop and optimize new tread patterns using FEA tools, and to build predictive models for wear and performance. Ideal candidates have a Master degree, experience with Abaqus, MATLAB and Python, and skills in technical drawing/CAD.

Qualifications

Master degree Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering (or similar).
Experience in FEA modeling, Abaqus preferred.
MATLAB and Python coding skills for pre/post processing.
Ability with technical drawings, and knowledge in CAD.

Responsibilities

Support the development and optimization of new tread patterns with FEA tools.
Develop and validate predictive models for tread performance (wear, noise, wet/dry behavior).
Enhance tread design methodologies through automation, integration, and new modeling techniques.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

You will collaborate with your tutor in:

New Tread Design – Support the development and optimization of new tread patterns with FEA tools.
Predictive Analysis – Develop, validate against indoor/outdoor tests and implement predictive models for tread performance assessment (wear, noise, wet/dry behavior)
Research & Innovation – Enhance tread design methodologies through automation, integration, and new modeling techniques.
