Job summary

ABB in Genova is seeking an Internship in Cybersecurity for OT systems. You will design, configure and test cybersecurity solutions applied to DCS systems, and assist in producing documentation per customer specs.

The role is hybrid, supporting the Cyber Security team within Automation Energy Industries for Central-South Europe region, offering hands-on experience in industrial cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Education: degree in technical disciplines or near graduation.
• Technical Skills: knowledge of installing and configuring virtualization environments (VMware ESX, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of Linux Red Hat is a plus.
• Languages: fluent in Italian and English.
• Soft skills: proactive mindset with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

This position reports to:

Digital Solution Engineering Manager

We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of Internship in Cybersecurity for OT systems. The person in this position will deal with cybersecurity measures applied on DCS-class control systems

The candidate will be part of the Cyber Security team in the local Automation Energy Industries unit supporting the implementation of Cyber Security measures on OT-Systems and maintaining Cyber Security systems on small and large DCS installed on different industrial sites from Power Generation to Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Oil&Gas plants.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, he/she will have the opportunity to participate in designing, configuring and testing Cybersecurity solutions applied to DCS systems. Each day, he/she will assist in designing engineering solutions, including development of documentation according to Customer specifications.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the Automation Energy Industries in Central-South Europe region.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supporting the preparation of specific aspects of design assignments to meet the contractual obligations, adhering to safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
• Installing and configuring cybersecurity packages ensuring the project meets contractual obligations.
• Participating in meetings pertaining to engineering design, tools, and processes.

Qualifications for the role

• Education: degree in technical disciplines (Computer Engineering, Information and Telecommunications Engineering or similar) or student near to be graduated.
• Technical Skills: kn owledge on installation and configuration of virtual environments using virtualization platforms (VMware ESX, Hyper-V).
• Previous experience in Cybersecurity is a plus.
• Knowledge of Linux Red-Hat is a plus.
• Languages: Ability to communicate fluently in both Italian and English.
• Soft Skills: A proactive mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
