We are currently seeking an Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer Sr., reporting directly to the Section Head to join our Instrumentation and Control System team based in Rome, Italy.

About the opportunity:

The role involves:

  • Reviewing client's technical documentation and requirements.
  • Controlling subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
  • Defining engineering requirements.
  • Supporting detailed engineering activities (layouts, routings, supports, sizing of CVs).
  • Preparing specifications/datasheets for field instruments and conducting technical bid evaluations.
  • Preparing general job and supply specifications for field instruments.
  • Checking supplier drawings and vendor project documentation.
  • Providing technical support to the project group.
  • Optimizing field instrument selection for cost and performance.
  • Implementing instrument detail design on P&IDs.
  • Managing changes effectively.
  • Communicating and interfacing with other engineering disciplines.
  • Participating in technical negotiations for instrumentation selection.
  • Performing Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Adhering to company/project standards, procedures, and specifications.

Key interactions include internal teams (civil works, other disciplines, project groups) and external suppliers and clients.

About you:

To succeed, you should have:

  • Qualification in Automation and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and automatic valves is a plus.
  • Knowledge of European ATEX/SIL regulations is a plus.
  • A growth mindset and problem-solving attitude.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work internationally and abroad.
  • Strong MS Office skills and knowledge of SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation).
