About The Position

  • The Controls Engineer will be based in Zeeco's Lissone office. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of all Zeeco products, especially those in the Incinerators division, along with technical expertise. The engineer will oversee all aspects of assigned projects to ensure the delivery of quality products on time and within budget.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Review project engineering and sales packages to define Zeeco's scope of supply.
  2. Interpret customer specifications and implement them for the "AS SOLD" equipment, noting any discrepancies or scope changes.
  3. Develop P&ID drawings in collaboration with project, sales, and process engineers to meet contractual requirements.
  4. Create Control Narratives and Cause & Effect diagrams in coordination with process engineers.
  5. Develop datasheets and connection diagrams for all instrumentation and valves within Zeeco's scope, including temperature, level, flow, pressure transmitters, control valves, positioners, and analytical instruments.
  6. Design and review drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and warning systems, including general arrangements, internal layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  7. Prepare cable BOMs, routing plans, and schedules.
  8. Issue RFQs or material requisitions to vendors, evaluate offers, and coordinate with Procurement for purchase orders.
  9. Assist the Project Manager in reviewing control-related budgets and strive for cost improvements.
  10. Prepare bid tabs for control items for review by PE/PM.
  11. Conduct inspections and tests of equipment prior to shipment, possibly with customer and Project Engineer present.
  12. Occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support sales, assist with commissioning, FAT, HAZOP, SIL meetings, or technical discussions with customers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • B.S. or Master's Degree in Engineering (Instruments, Automation, Electrical, etc.) or three years of related experience in manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Personal computer skills are required.
