About the Position
  • The Controls Engineer will be based at Zeeco's Lissone office. The role requires knowledge of all Zeeco products, with a focus on Flares division products and technical requirements. The engineer will be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects to ensure quality products are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
  • Review project engineering and sales packages to determine Zeeco's scope of supply.
  • Interpret customer specifications and implement them for the "AS SOLD" equipment, noting any discrepancies or scope changes.
  • Develop P&ID drawings in coordination with project, sales, and process engineers to meet contractual requirements.
  • Create Control Narratives and Cause & Effect diagrams in collaboration with process engineers.
  • Develop data sheets and hook-up drawings for instruments and valves, including temperature, level, flow, and pressure transmitters, control valves, and other instrumentation.
  • Design and review drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, and warning light systems, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Prepare and review cable BOMs, routing plans, and schedules.
  • Prepare RFQs or material requisitions for vendors and coordinate technical and commercial evaluations, working with Procurement for purchase orders.
  • Support project managers in reviewing budgets for control systems and seek cost improvements.
  • Compile bid tabs for control items for review and discussion.
  • Perform inspections and tests of equipment before shipment, possibly with customer participation.
  • Occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support sales, commissioning, FAT, HAZOP, SIL meetings, and technical discussions.
Qualifications and Skills
  • B.S. or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Instruments, Automation, Electrical, etc.) or equivalent experience in manufacturing; personal computer skills required.
  • Business acumen and sound decision-making are essential, despite the technical background requirement.
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to performance.
  • Fluent in English.
