Job summary

The Palliser School Division invites applications for a Grades 1-4 Generalist Colony Teacher (Temporary) at Gold Ridge School / Turin Colony, starting November 16, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027. This 0.84 FTE position focuses on delivering Alberta Education curriculum to early elementary students in a collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate holds an Alberta Teaching Certificate, has experience with elementary curricula, and can engage students with differentiated instruction while aligning

Qualifications

• Alberta Teaching Certificate.
• Experience administering elementary and middle school curricula.
• Criminal record check including vulnerable sectors within 3 months of contract start.

Responsibilities

• Establishes objectives and outlines for curriculum per Alberta Education and communicates to students.
• Uses varied instructional approaches and plans activities aligned to curriculum.
• Observes and evaluates student progress with tests and records.
• Maintains behavior policies and safety under the Principal's guidance.
• Meets with professionals to discuss student needs and progress and with parents.
• Collaborates with staff to plan lessons and improve school programs.
• Prepares students for later grades and adapts materials for diverse needs.
• Plans for Education Assistants and other staff supervision as appropriate.
• Performs related tasks including organizing materials and displaying student work.
