About the role:

Within the company's Global R&D site, the APD (Advanced Product Development) Dish Care Architecture team is looking for a highly motivated engineer to lead Technical Development and create innovative, efficient appliances and relevant consumer experiences.

APD is the systematic evaluation and testing of new technologies for the eventual creation of new or next generation products and production methods. The purpose of APD is to reduce uncertainties concerning issues about technology, feasibility, timing, and cost of such magnitude that cannot be handled in product development projects.

Projects can be large or small, theoretical or concrete, technical or market oriented. The common factor is a high degree of uncertainty.

APD is responsible for monitoring the trend of the technologies.

What will you do:

In this position, you will be involved in a variety of projects and have a broad range of responsibilities, from leading technical projects to supporting other project leaders in your area of expertise.

We are looking for a motivated candidate who can drive projects from initial proposal to the implementation of the technical solution in our products, interacting globally with different R&D departments as well as with the Business Areas.

In detail:

• Focus on dishwashers within our architecture team, starting from the identification of the area of improvement, proposing solutions, evaluating them, proving them, and convincing our stakeholders to proceed with the most suitable to fulfill customer requirements.

• Assess new technologies and ideas, even with high technical risk, and prove the technical feasibility by theoretical and experimental analysis.

• Lead projects, including effective promotion and communication of benefits, objectives, and outcomes.

• Collaborate in defining performance testing and concept verification to improve consumer experience.

• Keep yourself updated with innovation in your field of expertise and promote investigations with the aim to push innovation, based on consumer insights and technology trends.

• Interact with experts in different scientific fields and working in different areas e.g., electronics, materials, industrial design, product lines and also develop an external network to universities, research institutes and innovation partners.

Who you are:

• University degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Energetic Engineering or similar. PhD is a plus.

• Qualified working experience in mechanic, thermo- and fluid-dynamics.

• The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience in an R&D environment, preferably in home appliances and has project management experience.

• Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to derive practical, user-friendly solutions.

• Familiar with 3D CAD Design (CATIA is a merit).

• Strong development and testing skills.

• Good communication and presentation skills in English and Italian.
