Position Summary

The Application Engineer will support Customers, Sales, Customer Service, Product Management and Product Engineering. The precise geographical area can vary and depends on the company needs and the employee’s location and language skills. In this role the Application Engineer is responsible for performing specific engineering and analytical tasks directed towards the proper application and selection of Regal Rexnord Products. We are looking for someone who achieves satisfaction professionally by influencing value-added technical ideas and helping customer achieve their goals. This position will be working in an international and multi-cultural, industry focused environment, providing technical and product recommendations in support of the team’s sales initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Technical Consult: Technical evaluation of sales opportunities, reviewing application data and determining lead product suitability and value proposition.
• Product Advice: Provide customer with assistance for product selection for unique, special, or technical applications.
• Application Review: Review customer specifications and determine Regal Rexnord’s ability to meet the requirements.
• Quote support: Prepare formal proposals covering the correct application for assigned products for inquiries requiring standard, modified, or special products to meet customer specifications and/or requirements.
• Training: Provide customers with technical support and (new) product presentations and training at customer locations.
• On site Support: Product Identification and Selection, Conveyor Installation support & Conveyor Trouble Shooting (technical and hands-on)
• Line Performance optimization: Evaluate performance of conveyors and recommend changes and improvements to optimize performance and output.
• Complaints management: Evaluate and deal with technical complaints
• Marketing: Contribute to promotion and advertising activities, trade shows. Conduct employee training and provide content for Engineering literature (engineering manual, data sheets) and tools (calculation program)
• Product Management: Collect Voice of Customer related to potential product improvements and new products, based on unmet needs. Support the preparation of product launches. Support Product Line Simplification activities.
• Account Management: Must establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal/external customers.
• Communication: Provides project coordination and communication.
• Organized: Uses common process management tools and methods including problem solving process.

Experience and Skill Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering/technology field, or proven similar level obtained by experience.
• Work experience in Application Engineering or similar role. See below for different levels of experience.
• A self-managed and self-motivated individual with strong ownership and commitment who excels in global team environment
• Fluent spoken and written English and preferably at least one additional modern language
• The willingness and ability to travel extensively
• Strong technical and analytical skills with great attention to details
• Having knowledge/experience of Glass Manufacturing Industry and/or conveyor systems is a plus
• Flexible working schedule, available to support colleagues and customers after regular business hours
• Strong Communication and Confident presentation skill for medium to large group of customers and able to communicate with customers on all levels
• Customer oriented with problem solving mindset
• Driver’s license
• At least 5 years of experience in the role
• Sense of urgency
