Job Description

Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all aspects of infrastructure. They excel at analysis, documentation, diagramming for hand-offs, providing timely solutions, and troubleshooting. This hands-on role requires a keen understanding of system-environment interactions to benefit clients.

The role has two main components: contributing to ongoing projects by analyzing issues, offering solutions, testing, modifying, automating, and integrating systems, especially focusing on Mainframe Architecture; and engaging in long-term strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operations. The role is platform-agnostic, requiring a broad understanding of various systems, offering diverse experiences and growth opportunities at Kyndryl.

Early involvement in projects allows specialists to propose solutions, assess feasibility, and identify risks related to technical and timelines, addressing client expectations and internal challenges. Successful specialists often become trusted by clients, who request them by name, reflecting their impact.

This project-based position involves deep engagement throughout project lifecycles and collaboration with Architects, Technicians, and Project Managers. Regardless of current technical skills or career aspirations, the role offers opportunities for growth and support.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Mainframe environments
• Deep expertise in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud, systems engineering, security, networking, data analytics)
• Enterprise IT application experience
• Hands-on experience in software development, DevOps, systems administration, or architecture
• Knowledge of Mainframe Architecture
• Experience driving engineering solutions and collaborating across teams
• Strong planning, communication, and process improvement skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• In-depth knowledge of Mainframe architecture
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills
• Familiarity with diverse IT concepts and practices
• Experience in technical planning, design, and problem-solving
