Role Overview:

Based at GCAP HQ Security Office in Reading, UK, the Information Security Specialist (SOC) will help establish and maintain an effective Security Operations Center, monitoring and responding to security incidents.

Responsibilities include:

• Reporting to the Head of Information Security Operations/WARP.
• Monitoring cybersecurity risks and managing security incidents.
• Analyzing security logs, assessing threats, and defining countermeasures.
• Managing SOC activities such as incident management, forensic investigations, and vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborating with IT, legal, and risk teams to ensure comprehensive security measures.
• Maintaining security standards like ISO 27001 and NIST frameworks.
• Setting KPIs to evaluate SOC effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Degree.
• 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields.

Technical Skills:

• Basic knowledge of firewalls, IPS, anti-malware tools.
• Understanding of cyber risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards (ISO 27001, NIST).

Additional Skills:

• ISO 27001 certification (nice-to-have).
• Experience as a Security Analyst or Cyber Security Specialist (nice-to-have).
