Job Description

Maintenance Mechanic

We are looking for individuals with 5-10 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment. Candidates must be familiar with basic hand tools and precision equipment. Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is required. Some electrical experience and Industrial Waste Water Treatment system experience are a plus. We seek a well-rounded individual, able to work with minimal supervision, to join our team in a fast-paced work environment.

The Shift Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring all equipment is in good working order and that the preventative maintenance schedule is completed in compliance with established company standards and procedures.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain good working order of all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and carpentry equipment in the department.
• Ensure preventative maintenance schedule is followed and completed.
• Perform metal fabrication, welding, and cutting with a torch when necessary.
• Perform minor electrical work.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Supervision Received:

Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns should be communicated to the Maintenance Department Manager.

Authority and Accountability:

Accountable to the Maintenance Department Manager for the quality and timeliness of tasks performed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of mechanical experience in an industrial environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 pounds. Work involves reaching, stooping, bending, and kneeling. Work duration: 4-6 hours per 12-hour shift.
• Carry objects up to 20 pounds for up to 100 ft.
• Push/pull up to 20 pounds over 5-10 ft.
• Work involves reaching out and up for up to 12 hours with a 5 lb. weight.
• Occasional climbing of ladders or platforms and working at heights up to 35 feet.
• Work is primarily in a standing position with frequent stooping, bending, and kneeling. Continuous walking/standing for up to 3 hours.

Equipment Operation:

Operation of equipment including boom lift, squeeze lift, and forklift is required.
