Italy serves as the Group’s Competence Center for the design, production, and delivery of Navigation Aids products and non-Radar Surveillance Products.

The Logistic Manager at Thales is a key member of the Industry team, acting as the logistic subject matter expert within the industrial department. This role oversees inbound, outbound, and warehouse management for all materials related to our international market footprint. The position leads logistic processes and supports multiple cross-functional delivery projects across our global organization. Additionally, it is responsible for shipping, transportation, and warehouse management in Italy. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate all logistic flows, supervise external logistics providers, handle project-related logistics, and lead a team of Logistic Specialists.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Logistic Manager leads all logistic activities and warehouse management, overseeing local teams and contracted resources (3PL). Responsibilities include defining, managing, and monitoring logistic and transportation plans for delivery projects; developing and tracking KPIs related to logistics flow and warehouse operations; planning and overseeing inbound and outbound deliveries; selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates; researching optimal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers; supervising logistics, warehouse (3PL), and transportation operations. The role involves collaboration with other departments to align logistics with company procedures and operations, evaluating budgets and expenditures, updating performance metrics, ensuring compliance with laws, import/export regulations, and customs procedures. The manager also coordinates full order cycles, resolves issues, supports troubleshooting, and provides logistics support during bid phases, including cost estimation. Additionally, they coordinate project deliveries with stakeholders (PM, Sales, Supply Chain), prepare export and delivery documentation in compliance with regulations and customer contracts, monitor order status, and support annual inventory counts.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, ideally in complex or regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, or industrial manufacturing. Strong knowledge of import/export processes, military material regulations, customs compliance, and experience managing external logistics partners. Ability to liaise within international organizations, present business scenarios to management, and fluency in English (written and spoken). IT proficiency is mandatory. Additional languages such as French, Portuguese, or German are a plus. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making skills, and soft skills including responsibility-taking, openness to challenges, agility, proactivity, ownership, collaboration, solution focus, and excellent communication skills.
