Job summary

ABB Motion seeks a Head of Product Development for Industrial Digital Solutions, based in Europe or India, with Parma as a key focus area. The role guides digital IoT solution engineering across on-premise, edge, and cloud and shapes AI-enabled software offerings for industrial customers.

You will lead diverse teams, drive cross-functional collaboration, and embed security-by-design practices while translating market needs into scalable, secure digital products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Significant leadership in digital solution engineering, software R&D, or IoT product development with multidisciplinary teams.
• Hands-on Azure cloud experience and delivering complex digital products across hybrid environments.
• Proven success leading AI transformations in software development and integrating AI into customer offerings.
• Strong business acumen linking technology to customer value and commercial outcomes; cybersecurity knowledge and secure development practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; experience with agile methodologies (SAFe) and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end digital IoT solution engineering and technology strategy
• Drive development and delivery of complex digital IoT solutions across hybrid cloud and edge
• Spearhead AI and agentic AI transformation in software processes and offerings
• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering leadership team across cloud, edge, analytics, cybersecurity
• Own cybersecurity as a core function and embed secure-by-design throughout development
• Establish agile delivery governance, metrics, and quality standards with balanced innovation and debt management
• Foster cross-functional alignment with product management, architecture, operations, and stakeholders
• Promote an innovation-driven engineering culture supporting scaling, talent development, and R&D transformation
