Job summary

Sidel in Parma, Italy, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support testing procedures for filler equipment and to help develop testing tools aligned with automation evolution. You will contribute to standard work, checklists and Gantt charts, and participate in product development to boost quality and efficiency.

The role requires a Master’s degree in related fields, familiarity with PLCs and automation tools, and fluency in Italian and English.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in management, mechanical or automation engineering or related field.
• Good knowledge of MS Office Suite and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages (Python, VB, C++, Java or SQLite).
• Familiarity with industrial automation tools (TIA Portal, Automation Studio, EPLAN P8).
• Power BI knowledge is a plus.
• Fluency in Italian and English; French is a plus.
• Interest in industrial engineering, manufacturing and automation technologies.
• Basic knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Basic understanding of PLC automation and electrical schematics.
• Interest in digitalization and Industry 4.0; AI in manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of robotics or cobots is a plus.
• Analytical mindset, problem-solving, good communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, cross-functional environment; proactive and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support Industrial Engineering activities related to testing procedures for filler equipment.
• Contribute to standard work, checklists and Gantt charts for equipment testing.
• Participate in product development projects to improve quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Assist in developing testing tools aligned with automation evolution.
• Support automation projects involving PLCs, electrical design and digital twins for testing and validation.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain on WCM and digital transformation.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to analyze data and drive improvements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement focusing on cycle time, quality and cost.
• Work with Innovation, Engineering, Customer Project Management and Production on testing projects.
• Support collaboration with external partners in automation and digitalization.

Your opportunity

Be part of the Industrial Engineering Team supporting the management of testing procedures for equipment including the development of testing tools to ensure quality, project targets achievement, efficiency and manufacturing productivity.

Your Mission

• Support Industrial Engineering activities related to testing procedures for Filler equipment
• Contribute to the definition of standard work, checklists and Gantt charts for equipment testing activities
• Participate in Product Development projects aimed at improving quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of final products
• Assist in the development of testing tools in line with equipment and automation evolution;
• Support industrial automation projects involving PLC programming (Siemens, B&R), electrical design (EPLAN) and Digital Twin technologies for testing and validation activities;
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain team on WCM and digital transformation initiatives;
• Apply Lean & Six Sigma methodologies to analyze data, investigate process variability and support improvement actions;
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, quality enhancement and cost optimization;
• Work closely with Innovation, Engineering, Customer Project Management and Production teams on equipment testing projects;
• Support collaboration with external partners involved in automation and digitalization projects.

Your Profile

• Master's Degree in Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook;
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, VB, C++, Java or SQLite;
• Familiarity with industrial automation tools such as TIA Portal, B&R Automation Studio and EPLAN P8;
• Knowledge of Power BI is considered a plus;
• Good command of Italian and English, both written and spoken;
• French is considered a plus;
• Interest in industrial engineering, manufacturing processes and automation technologies;
• Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies;
• Basic understanding of PLC automation and electrical schematics;
• Interest in digitalization, Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing solutions;
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence applications in manufacturing is considered a plus;
• Knowledge of robotics or collaborative robotics (cobots) is considered a plus;
