We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated lawyer or solicitor specializing in consumer flight claims (typically via small claims procedure) to lead in-court collections, owning or wanting to open their own boutique legal firm in Italy. Pre-court collections are managed by a team of paralegals. You will be responsible for filing batches of court cases to recover compensation and/or reimbursement of Out-of-Pocket Expenses (OPE) incurred by passengers, or to recover ticket refunds. Currently, AirAdvisor handles claims related to EU261 / UK261 for flight delays, cancellations, and denied boarding, with baggage claims launching soon.

If the law or judge decides the case unfairly, we may escalate to advocate for legal reforms or public awareness. This role offers an excellent opportunity for high performers with strong litigation experience and a passion for consumer rights in the airline industry.

The candidate must be free from conflicts of interest, able to litigate claims against different airlines.

Requirements:
  • A valid lawyer’s / solicitor’s license and legal insurance.
  • A law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with small claims, consumer rights, or aviation law is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of relevant consumer protection laws and aviation regulations is a plus but not required.
  • Proven track record of successful in-court collection.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for case assessment, legal research, and strategy development.
  • Ability to manage caseloads, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and track statute of limitations.
  • Experience in automating and standardizing claims management processes to scale operations quickly.
Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and filing cases in courts against airlines, responding to legal defenses.
  • Leading enforcement of court decisions when necessary.
  • Conducting legal research and developing best practices.
  • Negotiating in-court settlements when appropriate.
  • Maintaining detailed case records and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Staying updated on consumer protection laws, aviation regulations, and legal precedents to provide current advice and representation.
