We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated lawyer specializing in consumer flight claims (typically via small claims procedure) to lead in-court collections, owning or wanting to open their own boutique legal firm in Italy. Pre-court collections are managed by a team of paralegals. You will be responsible for filing batches of court cases to collect compensation and/or reimbursement of Out-of-Pocket Expenses (OPE) incurred by passengers and/or recover ticket refunds. AirAdvisor currently handles three types of claims: EU261 / UK261 compensation for flight delays, cancellations, and denied boarding. We will soon launch baggage claims (delayed or lost).

If the law or judge decides the case unfairly, we would consider escalating this to change the law, if feasible. There may be PR opportunities regarding court victories and legal issues to raise public awareness. This role is ideal for high performers who are able to self-perform, have strong litigation experience, and are passionate about advocating for consumer rights in the airline industry.

The candidate must be free from conflicts of interest, meaning they are free to litigate claims against different airlines.

Requirements : A valid lawyer’s / solicitor’s license and legal insurance. A law degree from an accredited institution. Experience with small claims, consumer rights, or aviation law is a plus but not required. Knowledge of relevant consumer protection laws and aviation regulations is also a plus but not required. Proven success in in-court collection. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess case merits, conduct legal research, and develop effective legal strategies. Ability to manage caseloads, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and track statute of limitations. Experience in automating and standardizing claims management processes to scale quickly.

Responsibilities : Preparing and filing batches of cases in courts against airlines, responding to legal defenses, leading enforcement of court decisions if necessary, conducting legal research, negotiating settlements, maintaining case records, and staying updated on legal developments relevant to consumer protection and aviation law.

Able to work independently and manage multiple projects, eager to make a significant impact on customer satisfaction.
