Focus on fostering the corporate, leverage, and infra loan origination effort in the EU markets by collaborating with other product and relationship teams. Lead internal deal teams, support the client selection process, and effectively carry out external marketing activities.
- Manage the syndication process of loans from initial underwriting through successful distribution to a broad base of investors.
- Coordinate activities of team members involved in the process.
- Manage market risk associated with proposed transactions.
- Monitor market trends across different loan asset classes and maintain proprietary market info databases.
- Support the product desk in the credit proposal process, identifying the target final take for each transaction.
- Define distribution strategies and identify potential participants in each transaction.
- Follow up with investors invited to syndication at all stages, coordinating with product desks and other internal functions as necessary.
Experience and Qualifications
- Solid experience in Loan Capital Markets and/or Debt Capital Markets, having originated and worked on significant Acquisition, Leverage, or Infrastructure facilities across Europe.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience with a focus on client and geographic expertise.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required; MBA is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in a second European language is an advantage.
- Knowledge of commercial and investment banking products.
- Strong negotiating, sales, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and lead multi-party negotiations.
- Advanced computer skills, especially in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Reuters, and main Loan Markets info providers.
- Knowledge of broad banks and institutional investors (CLOs, Hedge Funds).
- Established network within loan syndication banking circles, with access to senior decision-makers.
- Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements.
