Job Description:

The ICT – Infrastructure Senior Specialist is responsible for the strategic oversight, governance, and continuous improvement of the company’s IT infrastructure, which includes both on-premise and cloud-based environments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the infrastructure meets current and future business needs in terms of availability, performance, security, and scalability, while coordinating external service providers.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Governance & Architecture:

  • Support the definition and maintain standards and roadmaps for IT infrastructure (network, servers, storage, cloud services).
  • Ensure the operational continuity of global IT infrastructure assets, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Evaluate and recommend on-prem and cloud infrastructure solutions to support business growth and innovation.
  • Ensure that systems and platforms are aligned with corporate IT strategy and security policies.
  • Coordinates support for complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Assure the maintenance of an accurate inventory of IT infrastructure assets on the CMDB, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.
  • Oversees IT processes in an international service delivery context, fostering continuous process improvement.

Service Provider Oversight:

  • Act as point of contact for the external service provider managing infrastructure & network operations.
  • Monitor and review the performance of the managed service contract (SLAs, KPIs, compliance).
  • Participate in regular service review meetings and lead incident escalations as needed.

Project Management & Execution:

  • Lead and coordinate infrastructure-related projects (e.g., migrations, upgrades, cloud transitions).
  • Collaborate with the digital transformation team to support the delivery of required IT infrastructure within projects and work with the IT security team on IT risk management, including identifying vulnerabilities and implementing mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Security & Compliance:

  • Work closely with the Information Security team to ensure infrastructure adheres to cybersecurity standards.
  • Support audits and compliance activities related to infrastructure (e.g., GDPR, GxP, ISO 27001).
  • Identify opportunities for automation, cost reduction, and performance optimization.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in the Pharmaceutical/Life-science sector.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in IT infrastructure management, ideally in a hybrid (on-prem/cloud) environment.
  • Knowledge of service level management, capacity management, financial management, availability management, and IT service continuity management;
  • Good knowledge and proven practice on Cloud infrastructure environments (IAAS, PAAS) provided by the main Cloud vendors (mainly on Azure and GCP);
  • Third party contract & delivery management abilities (Performance management, Planning & Control, Contract Financial management, etc.);

Preferred Skills:

  • Soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation;
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills;
  • Strong written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills;
  • Relational skills and attitudes required for effective Internal Customer management.
