RINA is seeking an Engineer -Mechanical & Hydrogen Laboratory to join the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division in Rome. The Lab Engineer will support the Material Characterization discipline, focusing on mechanical and hydrogen testing, data analysis, and report generation in English.

The role involves collaboration across sectors and periodic travel, with on-site laboratory duties and on-the-job training.

Competenze

• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical laboratory activities.
• Good knowledge of mechanical behavior and hydrogen environments.
• Experience with mechanical testing techniques: tensile testing, fracture toughness, fatigue, SSRT, CTOD, J-integral.
• Familiarity with hydrogen testing methodologies and material qualification for hydrogen service is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry standards (ASTM, ISO, ASME, API, EN, NACE).
• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition, and post-processing.

Mansioni

• Coordinate and supervise laboratory activities.
• Post-test data analysis and report drafting (English).
• Support development of non-standard test procedures and methods.
• Design and develop components for standard and non-standard tests.
• Maintain machines and manage quality assurance and certifications.
• Procurement support and lab logistics management.
• Collaborate with team members to carry out work and resolve problems.
• Willingness to travel (short/medium term).
