RINA is currently recruiting for a Hydrogen and Material R&D Engineer to join its office in Lamezia Terme within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division.


Mission
We are looking for a well-skilled Hydrogen - Materials Interaction Specialist to join our team, with specific expertise in Hydrogen, membranes, and storage materials. The ideal candidate will support our efforts in understanding and improving the interactions between materials and Hydrogen.


This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing measures, providing monitoring and inspection support, analyzing data, and facilitating learning and development initiatives related to Hydrogen - material interactions.


Key Accountabilities

  1. Risk Assessment Assistance:
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments related to Hydrogen and material interactions.
    • Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  2. Prevention Measures:
    • Implement and oversee preventive measures to ensure safe handling and storage of Hydrogen.
    • Develop protocols to minimize risks associated with Hydrogen - material interactions.
  3. Monitoring and Inspection Support:
    • Provide support in monitoring and inspecting Hydrogen storage systems and related materials.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  4. Data Analysis and Reporting Assistance:
    • Analyze data related to Hydrogen - material interactions and storage systems.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
    • Capable of supervising laboratory operations and managing industrial and funded projects.
  5. Learning and Development:
    • Facilitate training sessions and workshops on Hydrogen safety and material interactions.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in Hydrogen technology and materials science.

Education
Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering or Engineering General
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics or Chemistry


Qualifications

  • 1+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a Hydrogen-material related role or power generation industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and assist in performing failure analysis and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
  • Having obtained a PhD is considered a plus.
