RINA is currently recruiting for a Hydraulic Engineer - Dams & Infrastructures to join its office in Genoa, Italy within the Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division.

Mission

The role focuses on developing complex hydraulic analyses and calculations for multidisciplinary dam and infrastructure design projects under the supervision of the design team coordinator.

Key Accountabilities
  • Hydraulic System Design: Develop and design hydraulic systems for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Analysis and Modeling: Conduct hydraulic analyses and modeling to evaluate system performance; identify and mitigate potential issues.
  • Project Collaboration: Work with project teams, integrating hydraulic considerations into overall designs; collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and environmental specialists.
  • Site Inspections: Assess existing hydraulic systems, identify improvements, and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Documentation: Prepare engineering reports, drawings, and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations; ensure designs meet codes and standards.
  • Client Interaction: Understand client needs, address concerns, and communicate hydraulic concepts clearly.
  • Innovation: Explore innovative solutions to enhance system performance and sustainability.
  • Technical Expertise: Use HEC-RAS software for calculations; develop geotechnical projects from preliminary to detailed design.
  • Project Support: Provide daily support and oversight of project elements.
  • Project Management: Develop schedules, prepare technical reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure activities align with the Quality Management System; contribute to its improvement.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hydraulic engineering or related fields.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic system design principles and industry regulations.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software like HEC-RAS, EPANET, or SWMM is desirable.
  • Ability to assist in hydraulic analyses and modeling.
  • Strong collaboration skills with civil engineers, architects, and environmental specialists.
  • Basic site inspection techniques knowledge.
