OMAV S.p.A. - Senior Hydraulic Designer

OMAV S.p.A., founded in 1952, specializes in innovative plants including:

• Feeding lines and handling systems for extrusion presses
• Extrusion presses
• Furnaces for heating and aging profiles
• Container handling systems

Part of SMS group since 2020, we are seeking a Senior Hydraulic Designer.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and excitation tables for all machinery in the extrusion line, based on contractual specifications, project requirements, and technical-economic improvements.
2. Verify machine performance and cycles through appropriate calculations and technical assessments in collaboration with the team to ensure contractual performance.
3. Coordinate with other technical functions to define and verify interfaces, actuators, functions, and safety concepts.
4. Collaborate with centers of excellence within the SMS group (notably the hydraulic unit in Germany) to define technical solutions and validate real-world applications.
5. Support various company functions (sales, procurement, production, project management, and service) in troubleshooting.
6. Produce technical specifications for procurement and liaise with suppliers and production for technical material and package definitions.
7. Archive and update data in the PDM system.
8. Manage change procedures within your scope, including NC modifications.
9. Provide manuals and spare parts documentation to relevant departments.
10. Conduct machine inspections during production testing.
11. Proficiency in Office suite, AutoCAD, and preferably Inventor.
12. Possess a diploma as a mechanical/electronic technician or a degree in mechanical/electronic engineering.
13. Have medium experience in industrial automation, specifically in hydraulic design of machinery and plants.
14. Good command of the English language.
