NewSpace Technical in Campodoro, Northern Italy, is seeking an Optical Engineer to lead the design and analysis of advanced optical systems for space missions. Hybrid work arrangement available as the team collaborates with mechanical, systems, electronics and manufacturing engineers.

The role requires a degree in optical-related field, 3+ years in optical engineering, strong Zemax ability, and programming with MATLAB or Python.

Competenze

Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of experience in optical engineering.
Experience designing and analysing precision optical systems.
Proficiency with Zemax and laboratory test setups.
Programming experience with MATLAB and/or Python; strong communication skills.

Mansioni

Design and develop optical systems and assemblies for aerospace applications.
Perform optical modelling, performance analysis, and trade-off studies.
Conduct tolerance analyses and optimise designs for manufacture and integration.
Define optical performance budgets and verification approaches.
Develop alignment concepts, procedures, and test methodologies.
Specify optical components and support supplier reviews.
Assist with assembly, integration, and environmental testing.
Produce design reports and technical specifications.
Collaborate with suppliers and project stakeholders throughout development.
