Darwin Space is seeking a Senior Hybrid Rocket Propulsion Engineer in Italy. You will develop and optimise hybrid propulsion systems, model combustion chambers, and apply rigorous analysis to real propulsion hardware.

The role requires several years in industry with a strong background in hybrid propulsion, and collaboration across an engineering team to deliver current development programmes.

Darwin Space are currently hiring for a Senior Hybrid Rocket Propulsion Engineer on behalf of a business in Italy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise hybrid rocket propulsion systems.
• Model and simulate combustion chamber and reactive combustion flows.
• Apply engineering methodologies to the design and analysis of reactive combustion systems.
• Support the development, integration and testing of larger-scale rocket engines.
• Translate simulation and analysis results into practical propulsion and hardware solutions.
• Work closely with the wider propulsion and engineering team to deliver current development programmes.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven professional experience with hybrid rocket propulsion.
• Strong understanding of combustion chamber flow and reactive combustion.
• Experience with modelling and simulation of reactive combustion flows.
• Experience applying simulation and analysis to real propulsion hardware and design decisions.
• Experience working on larger-scale rocket engines or propulsion systems.
• Strong engineering and design experience within an industrial environment.
• Engineer or PhD-level qualification in aerospace, mechanical engineering, propulsion or a related field.
• Several years of relevant professional/industrial experience.
