Job Summary

Job Title: HR Manager

Reports To: Store Director

This role is responsible for managing all HR functions at an assigned store, focusing on associate-related matters to ensure a productive, engaging, compliant, and top-tier workforce. The HR Manager will think strategically, utilize data for decision-making, and build strong relationships with store leadership and associates. Collaboration with the Support Office on recruitment, development, benefits, and employee relations is essential.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Create a talent pipeline for future store needs.
  • Partner with leaders on employee relations and performance issues; consult with the Support Office on escalated issues.
  • Foster a sense of belonging and inclusion among associates.
  • Work closely with leadership to enhance engagement, loyalty, and work environment quality.
  • Coach leaders on team management and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Oversee weekly payroll processing, timecard management, and recordkeeping.
  • Manage leave programs and accommodations, partnering with third-party vendors.
  • Implement programs and training to support associates and leadership.
  • Use HR data to inform decisions and improve metrics.
  • Serve as a resource on benefits and recognition programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Relationships and Contacts

Supervisory Relationships: Direct report to Store Director; indirect to Sr. and Asst. HR Directors.

Organization Relationships: Daily contact with store management, HR colleagues, and support office teams; regular interaction with associates.

External Relationships: Contact with HR peers, industry groups, and consulting firms for best practices and trends.

Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, with at least 2 years of experience. SHRM-CP/PHR preferred. Strong knowledge in recruiting, employee relations, benefits, employment law, and confidentiality. Excellent communication, influence, and relationship-building skills required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Sitting at a computer for 50% of the time.
  • Bending, stretching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Walking in the store daily.
  • Professional presence and phone etiquette required.
Work Schedule

Full-time, typically 7:30 am to 5 pm, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
